Four - point correlator constraints on electromagnetic chiral parameters and resonance effective
We pursue the analysis of a set of generalized DGMLY sum rules for the electromagnetic chiral parameters at order e2p2 and discuss implications for effective Lagrangians with resonances. We exploit a formalism in which charge spurions are introduced and treated as sources. We show that no inconsistency arises from anomalies up to quadratic order in the spurions. We focus on the sum rules associ...
متن کاملEffective Lagrangians and chiral random matrix theory.
Recently, sum rules were derived for the inverse eigenvalues of the Dirac operator. They were obtained in two different ways: i) starting from the low-energy effective Lagrangian and ii) starting from a random matrix theory with the symmetries of the Dirac operator. This suggests that the effective theory can be obtained directly from the random matrix theory. Previously, this was shown for thr...
متن کاملEffective chiral Lagrangians for spin-1 mesons
The commonly used types of effective theory for vector mesons are reviewed and their relationships clarified. They are shown to correspond to different choices of field for spin-1 particles and the rules for transforming between them are described. The importance of respecting chiral symmetry is stressed. The choice of fields that transform homogeneously under the nonlinear realisation of chira...
متن کاملTwo Topics in Chiral Effective Lagrangians
In the absence of nucleons, we use partial wave unitarity, to show that the chiral expansion parameter must be close to p/4πf π rather than p /16πf π as previously suggested, where p is a typical pion momentum and fπ the pion decay constant. When nucleons are included, we apply the Tani-Foldy-Wouthuysen (TFW) transformation to the pion-nucleon effective Lagrangian to obtain an expansion in powe...
متن کاملLarge N C in Chiral Resonance Lagrangians *
In the large Nc limit, Nc → ∞, at fixed scale ΛQCD, the spectrum of QCD is known to consist of an infinite number of stable states. The degrees of freedom in the corresponding low energy effective theory are the states with masses vanishing in the chiral limit (mu = md = ms = 0) of large Nc QCD, viz. π, K, η and η′.5 The presence of the remaining massive states shows up only indirectly, trough ...
